about us
Tesia Hackett, the founder of Cueilli, is a community herbalist and avid forager of mixed Cree (Sturgeon Lake, Alta.) and Irish/Scottish/Scandinavian roots. With a background in biodiversity conservation, Tesia's deep connection to the land and her passion for herbalism and foraging inspired the creation of Cueilli.
During her pregnancy, Tesia envisioned Cueilli as a way to merge her love for herbalism, foraging, and botanical concoctions. She recognized the potential of bitters to introduce people to the abundant plants found in their own backyards. Tesia's intention was to create a wildcrafted apothecary deeply rooted in the land, fostering a sense of belonging and stewardship through deeper connections to nature.
Located on the unceded Mi’kma’ki territory of Gespe'gewa'gi, Cueilli offers bioregional bitters and botanical infusions crafted from responsibly wildcrafted botanicals. Tesia's aim is to invite people to rediscover the wild flavors of Gaspésie while honoring right relationships to the land.
Tesia's vision extends far beyond the creation of exceptional herbal products. It encompasses a profound belief in the power of reconnection—with ourselves, with the plants, and with the land we call home. By sharing her knowledge, Tesia aspires to empower others to embrace their own relationship with the natural world, nurturing a sense of reverence, appreciation, and environmental stewardship along the way.
Through Cueilli, Tesia Hackett weaves together her ancestral heritage, her passion for herbalism and foraging, and her dedication to biodiversity conservation, offering a gateway for individuals to embark on their own journey of rediscovery, guided by the wild flavors and botanical wonders of Gaspésie.
